The majority of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are likely to increase their IT budgets in the new year, according to computing specialists Node4.
Only five per cent of the 250 respondents said they anticipated a drop in spend, while 70 per cent said they were now thinking about how utilising the right technology can help them spring to success in 2014.
One in ten even revealed that their departmental budget was set to increase by ten per cent.
Node4’s business development director Paul Bryce said that IT budgets were “one of the first casualties” when the economy hit tough times in 2008, with many SMEs only upgrading or investing in their facilities when they absolutely had to. However, he added that things were now back on the up.
“All those with purchasing responsibility today want an IT solution that helps them to win more business, beat the competition and prosper in the growing economy,” Mr Bryce commented.
